Explore all our conversations and find your next favourite episode.
Every TeaTalk episode is a long-form conversation — usually 45 to 90 minutes — recorded with one or two guests in our studio. New episodes are released every 15 days, and the full archive is searchable below by topic, guest or keyword.
We focus on creative careers, Pakistani theatre and comedy, behind-the-scenes industry stories, and the personal turning points that shaped each guest. The episodes are not edited for "energy" or cut into highlight reels. What you watch is essentially what happened in the room, in the order it happened.
If you're new to the show, the most-watched episodes (sorted to the top below) are usually a good place to start. If you already follow a particular guest's work, use the search bar to jump straight to the episode they appear in.
Topics we cover
Most episodes touch on at least one of these recurring themes.
Veterans of the Pakistani theatre scene talking about how the industry actually works, on and off stage.
How a joke gets built, how a set gets tightened, and what changes when an audience starts to push back.
The unglamorous middle years between starting out and being noticed — the part most interviews skip.
What really goes on inside studios, writers' rooms and rehearsal halls, told by people who were there.
Practical conversations about structure, pacing, character, and the difference between a good idea and a finished story.
Preparation, rehearsal, performance anxiety, and the working relationship between actors and directors.
How writers approach a blank page, when to throw a draft away, and how scripts change once production starts.
Long-form context on how Pakistani entertainment got to where it is — the people, the studios, the turning points.
The decisions, mistakes and lucky breaks that shaped each guest's life and work.
How we plan an episode
- Research. We spend several hours going through a guest's older work, interviews and writing before recording. The aim is to know enough that the conversation can move freely without stopping for context.
- A short pre-record chat. Before any cameras roll, we sit with the guest for at least ten minutes over tea. By the time recording starts, they're already mid-conversation rather than in interview mode.
- One long take. Episodes are recorded in a single continuous take — usually 60 to 100 minutes. We don't restart for better answers.
- Light edit. We remove technical issues and the occasional long pause, but we leave hesitations, disagreements and side-tangents in.
- Human-written episode notes. Every description and timestamp on this site is written by our team, not generated.
