SubscribeWhy TeaTalk Podcast is different
A long-form, human-led conversation show — not soundbites, not clickbait, not autogenerated content.
Real conversations, not interviews
Most podcasts run through a checklist of questions. TeaTalk doesn't. Every episode is recorded as a relaxed conversation between the host and a guest, often over an actual cup of tea. We let topics develop naturally so the guest can share the story they actually want to tell — not the one they're used to repeating in press interviews.
That's why our episodes are typically 45–90 minutes long. We give space for nuance, disagreement, personal history, and the small details that turn a generic interview into a memorable conversation.
Original, hand-produced content
Every episode is recorded, edited, and produced by the TeaTalk team. We don't repackage other people's interviews, we don't use AI-generated voices, and we don't republish content from elsewhere. The guests you see here actually sat down with us.
Episode notes, descriptions, and the editorial copy on this site are written by humans on our team. If we feature a clip or a quote, it's something we recorded ourselves.
What you'll find on TeaTalk
Six recurring themes shape almost every conversation we record.
Creative journeys
How artists, writers, comedians and performers actually built their careers — including the years before anyone was watching.
Pakistani culture & theatre
Long-form conversations with figures from Pakistani theatre, comedy and television about the craft and the history of the industry.
Behind-the-scenes stories
What really happens on set, in writers' rooms and in studios — told by the people who were there.
Personal turning points
The decisions, mistakes and moments of luck that changed a guest's life. We dig into the why, not just the what.
Craft & process
How a script gets written, how a joke gets built, how a performance gets prepared. Practical insight you can actually learn from.
Honest opinions
We let guests disagree with the host — and with each other. No artificial harmony, no pre-approved talking points.
Who TeaTalk is for
If any of these sound like you, you'll probably enjoy the show.
You like long-form podcasts. If your favourite episodes are the ones where two people actually go deep on a topic for an hour, TeaTalk is built for you. We don't cut for attention spans — we cut for honesty.
You're interested in South Asian and Pakistani creative work. A lot of our guests come from Pakistani theatre, comedy and entertainment, and we treat that industry with the same depth that English-language podcasts give to Hollywood or the BBC.
You want to learn the craft. Aspiring writers, comedians, performers and creators get a lot out of the episodes where we focus on the actual process — how guests prepare, rehearse, edit, fail, and try again.
You enjoy unhurried, respectful conversation. No shouting, no gotcha moments, no engagement-bait edits. Just two people talking properly.
